In the final concert of Historic Hudson's summer chamber music series, Contemporaneous brings a program of new and recent works to the gorgeous Oliver Bronson House, which is being restored to the gleam of its 1812 opening.
Contemporaneous vocalist Lucy Dhegrae and bassist Pat Swoboda are joined by frequent guest cellist Ian Gottlieb to perform a program of works by Katherine Balch, Ian Gottlieb, Shawn Jaeger, and a rare world premiere by co-artistic director David Bloom. The performance will include a discussion with the composers and will be followed by a reception on the sweeping terrace, with a view of the Hudson River.
Program:
Katherine Balch (b. 1991): Vidi l'angelo nel marmo (2015) — New York premiere
Ian Gottlieb (b. 1990): Medium (2012)
David Bloom (b. 1990): Daybreak (2016) — world premiere
Shawn Jaeger (b. 1985): Pastor Hicks' Farewell (2006)
Jaeger In Old Virginny (2007)
