HEAPS
A 40-minute sound collage of Imogen Heap’s iconic track Hide and Seek – melding choir, chamber orchestra, electronics, and live processed solo vocals.
For all composers & artists who dream in music…
CONTEMPORANEOUS IMAGINATION is the place for your wildest dreams. We want to hear the ideas you might tell yourself are impossible to realize. If you dream of something you know you could create if you had no restrictions, we’ll listen with open ears and open minds. If you've written something that does not fit into the expectations for newly commissioned music, but you know that it will have a profound effect on those who experience it, we want to help bring it to life!
Share your dreams with us!
We are devoted towards expanding the imagination of today’s cultural spaces through all musical/collaborative art forms (and forms of art not yet established)! It’s our mission to help you bring about those meaningful dreams – the ones that don’t seem possible – through the unquenchably open-minded spirit of our musicians and artistic/development teams. We encourage you to be daring as you imagine the future and promise to respond with the seriousness your ideas deserve – no matter how crazy or impossible they may sound.
Imagination Radio
Imagination Radio investigates the ways we search for meaning through music and life, and why people are compelled to create.
Produced by Contemporaneous and hosted by co-artistic directors David Bloom and Dylan Mattingly, Imagination Radio explores the boundless imagination in every walk of life — from BASE-jumping to neuroscience, and cartography to music — in search of what drives each of us to venture into the unknown. Imagination Radio features episodes that pursue monumental questions of creativity alternating with episodes that dive deep into works that Contemporaneous has commissioned.
Though the podcast is on hiatus, we hope you listen to our current episodes below (and subscribe for any updates 😉)!
