EVAN HONSE
TRUMPET
New York City based trumpeter, Evan Honse, enjoys a multi-faceted career performing a wide variety of musical styles across the United States. Evan has played on Broadway Productions of War Paint, Anastasia, Fiddler on the Roof, An American in Paris, Fidler Afn Dakh, and the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.
A passionate advocate for new music, Evan is a Core member of new music ensembles Contemporaneous, and Exceptet, and has performed with Tilt Brass, Talea Ensemble, and S.E.M. Ensemble.
Evan has performed as featured soloist for the Torelli Trumpet Concerto with Symphony in C, Hovhaness' Prayer of St. Gregory with the Lake Tahoe Summer Music Festival.
Commercially, Evan has performed and/or recorded with artists: The Who, David Byrne, Belle and Sebastian, Zola Jesus, Sondre Lerche, Mirah, Diane Cluck, Jherek Bischoff, Pharoahe Monch, Jack Moves, Nat Osborn Band, Bad Buka, Gato Loco, Stan Rubin Orchestra, Shrine Big Band, Hugo, Celtic Thunder, DJ Thomas Gold and many others.
Evan has performed with: New World Symphony, Ridgefield Symphony, Hudson Valley Philharmonic, Symphony in C, Bronx Opera, Cantebury Chorale Society, Fairfield County Chorale, Affinity Brass, Filmharmonic Brass, Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players, Metro Chamber Orchestra, and Camerata Virtuosi New Jersey.
As a Teacher, Evan has held positions as Brass Coach for NYC's Interschool's Orchestra, and is Currently trumpet teacher at The Browning School, and St. Ann's School.
Evan received a Master's Degree in Orchestral Performance from Manhattan School of Music where he studied with Mark Gould and a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder where he studied with Terry Sawchuk.
