Contemporaneous will join forces yet again with the fantastic singer/composer Gabrielle Herbst as part of Xperimental Love Fest 2012, five nights of cutting-edge performances at Roulette's amazing, new space in Brooklyn.
We will be performing with Gabrielle in her own work Stormy Goggles and Precious Maps. These works combine a sensory ambiance with a rock-infused core that come together to create an intimate and heart-wrenching experience. The composer herself guides her music, singing a haunting, original tale of loss in which you find yourself in beautifully contradictory situations: floating through storm clouds and suspended in the depths of rushing water.
This exciting show also includes brand new music by Gabrielle that she developed at a recent residency at the Watermill Center with her new band. Video artists Eye Bodega and John Leland will also be featured on this post-Valentine's Day event.
Program:
Gabrielle Herbst (b. 1986): Precious Maps (2011)
