Finn Shanahan is an educator, interdisciplinary artist and member of boio, a musical duo that explores group expression through song, dance, and artmaking. He also creates mixed media visual artworks and recorded music. Finn has been a member of Contemporaneous since 2010, his own work greatly inspired by the group's years of educational outreach to people of all ages. Finn’s creative and teaching practices are informed by "process-art" and lifelong learning through exploration, self-education, collaboration and play.
In 2016, New Amsterdam Records released Finn's first solo recording, The Two Halves, a symphonic-prog concept album commissioned and recorded by Contemporaneous. Since then, his releases include film scores and a short improv album with a dog. Finn graduated from Little Feet Preschool for Medium and Big Kids.
