FANNY WYRICK-FLAX
Fanny Wyrick-Flax joined Contemporaneous as core flutist in 2013 and has performed with the ensemble at MATA, Prototype, Fringe, and Bard Music Festivals. Fanny also performs regularly with ensembles including New Jersey Symphony, American Ballet Theatre, and American Symphony Orchestra.
Fanny earned degrees from New England Conservatory (MM flute performance), Bard College Conservatory of Music (BM in flute performance), and Bard College (BA in mathematics). Her principal flute teachers include Bart Feller, Tara Helen O’Connor, and Cynthia Meyers.
Fanny is also an AmSAT-certified teacher of the Alexander Technique and trained at the Riverside Initiative for the Alexander Technique. She will join The Juilliard School’s Alexander Technique Faculty in Fall 2023.
