Burn After Listening

Friday, May 7, 2010 | 8:00 pm
Chapel of the Holy Innocents | Bard College
Free and open to the public

Like a highly confidential message to be burned after reading, we return to the campus of Bard College to present a unique concert experience for your ears only. This novel combination of works by four emerging and two established composers is a unique combination of secretive and aggressive works never to be heard together again.

Contributions from our featured emerging composers include two high-octane works by Preben Antonsen and an intimately evocative exploration by Bard College composer Jesse Brown. In this concert we also present the second performance of Mario Ferraro's Pressages, the first work to be commissioned by Contemporaneous.

Program:

Preben Antonsen (b. 1991): vermiform aggregates (2008) *
Jesse Brown (b. 1987): In the Footsteps of Virgil (2009)
Eve Beglarian (b. 1958): Cave (2001)

– Intermission –

Mario Ferraro (b. 1965): Pressages (2010) (contemporaneous commission)
